Temple Street Childrens Hospital, 2018

Bank Holiday Monday, April 2nd 2018 there will be a mug of coffee, some cake and a bit of chat with friends to raise a few bob for Temple Street Childrens Hospital.

Year 8 now of doing it, the week following I’ll head to Inis Mór to complete (as versus compete) the half marathon for a charity that I hold close to my heart.

2016: Temple Street Childrens Hospital, You, Me, Inis Mor and A Half Marathon

This coming April 8 – 10th, 2016 I am again heading for another Temple Street Half Marathon on the fantabulous island of Inis Mór – it’s just off the edge off Galway – there are some more images below.

The reasons why Temple Street is so close to my heart slightly to one side, this year hopefully will be my 6th to run, sprint, crawl somehow complete the half marathon on Inis Mór for Temple Street Childrens University Hospital.

As noted the last year and two:

Chatting this morning, the suggestion was that I could have opted out, that I’m busy with work and that haven’t I done it for the last 3 [now 4] years. But there’s also the argument for my being lucky [is that even the right word to use ?], that a bit perspective in a world gone mad isn’t such a bad thing and a very strong case for doing something to give a little back.

tom clements, peter donegan, sean conville, inis mor temple street 2015

It was a few weeks ago that myself, Tom and Sean headed over to Inis Mor, the largest of the three Aran Islands to do The [annual] Temple Street half marathon.

Reasons and whys are better kept for a chat and a mug of coffee together, this posting being more about you and a note to say thank you.

Temple Street Childrens Hospital, Half Marathon, Inis Mor 2015

We all have our reasons in life for doing things. The reasons why Temple Street is so close to my heart aside for now [my number is below if you wish to chat/ coffee], this year hopefully will be my 5th year to run, sprint, crawl complete the half marathon on Inis Mór for Temple Street Childrens University Hospital.

As noted last year:

Chatting this morning, the suggestion was that I could have opted out, that I’m busy with work and that haven’t I done it for the last 3 [now 4] years. But there’s also the argument for my being lucky [is that even the right word to use ?], that a bit perspective in a world gone mad isn’t such a bad thing and a very strong case for doing something to give a little back.

I know as a business you may like a little return for your dollars and should that be the case; there does exist this garden blog and my dashing good looks and there’s also a garden radio show and podcast (also award winning) that has covered the journey [horticulturally] every single year. And I’m open to suggestions.

Temple Street, Inis Mor Half Marathon 2014

peter donegan, kevin rowe, inis mor, temple street

Saturday just gone myself and a host of others crossed the half marathon finish line on the wonderful island of Inis Mór all for the good folks of Temple Street Childrens Hospital.

I’ll leave the reasons why Temple Street is so close to my heart to one side for now. I will note however that I could not have chose better company to complete the 13.5 miles with than that of Nick McGivney [pictured below] and Kevin Rowe [above].
