Anne O’Hara – Mornington House

Listen!

This morning I had the absolute honour to speak with Anne O’Hara, wife of Warwick O’Hara – who reside at Mornington House Co. Westmeath.

Whilst there has been a house at Mornington since the early 17th century, it has been home to The O’Hara family since 1858. Steeped in history, this is to date, for me one of the most intriguing and most most probably the easiest and finest interviews I have ever done, in my life.

As a podcast the final audio result is a little rough-er around the frills than I would have liked, but for me the content in this case is what makes it so very special. That said, as best as was feasibly possible I have left it unedited almost in its entirety – mainly as I simply loved, personally, listening to almost every second of it over and over again.

I laughed, smiled and almost cried, with laughter in some cases as Anne spoke quite frankly and passionately about her and Warwicks home. What you did not have the honour of was the almost 40 minute conversation that took place prior to this audio from which I intended to take some notes. Surprising, possibly, I took none and simply listened and smiled.

Shawna Coronado @ bloom 2010

...

I had interviewed and reviewed Shawna’s book before. I knew from some time back that she was on her way to Dublin for Bloom 2010 so we had this interview lined up a long time before hand.

Naturally and of course, there was an evening were a few of us met up for some refreshments in Dublin City Centre. It goes with the turf πŸ˜‰

That aside, I tried to leave the interview uncut as best as possible. And on a serious note, Shawna is a true lady. It was an absolute honour to finally meet and chat with her in person. More than that, I’m a big believer in that that she believes in and speaks so energetically on the subject of.

Take a look and see how we got on πŸ˜€

An Interview with Green Party Senator Dan Boyle

...with Dan
...

I’ve had my run ins with the Green Party. No secret there… [a quick search in the blog will help you there if you’re interested πŸ˜‰ ]

But when I reviewed the latest Irish budget… I asked would any politician like to meet and have a chat… credit where it’s due… Dan responded and answered yes.

Before I go any further may I just thank Dan Boyle for his time. Whatever the answers to my questions [and whether you agree or not] he was the only politician in Ireland to stand up and accept….

Today I went into Leinster House and met Dan – I put the following points to him:

  • €1.7 million spend on forestry in the december budget
  • wind turbines
  • carbon credits
  • copenhagen
  • is deidre de burca going to europe ?
  • do you know Anto ?
  • how green is dan boyle ?
  • do you know the ward hunt?
  • why are they unhappy with the green party?
  • if dan boyle could change one thing in politics?
  • what does dan boyle want for Christmas?

how green is… a knight[s]?

Courtesy of the carlsberg comedy festival I was in the Iveagh gardens to meet and interview some of Irelands finest comedians on Sunday.

The funny thing I guess is that whilst I knew who was performing at the event… I never expected that 2 knights would pass my way. I just couldn’t resist…..

how green is… david mc savage

At the carlsberg comedy festival I met with up Irish comedian David Mc Savage.

The reason I went to meet David of course was to find out just how green he really is….

One tries ones best. But it doesn’t always go according to plan….
