  • Garden Talk Title: Gardening is for Grandmom’s. Grow Your Own is for for hippies.
  • Further: an evolutionary look at how we, horticulture and our relationship with the landscape has changed and grown over the years.

Peter Donegan began gardening at the age of 5. When he grew up, he went on to study horticulture for 4 years. In 2001 he set up Donegan Landscaping and has won a host of design and landscaping awards for 17th and 18th century gardens and show gardens at National competition. Peter hosts and presents The Sodshow, Dublin’s only garden radio show and podcast and lives in the wee town of Ballyboughal, North County Dublin with his family, his two dogs and his three hens.

donegan, electric picnic & a pink boat

I went down to electric picnic ’09 on the Sunday, late in the aftrenoon. Just for the one night/ day. My good friends Michael & Nicola were getting married on the Saturday and I couldn’t miss that 😉

Thanks so much to Sian Maloney, Anthony Sarah, Amy & sis Blaithín Ben and all the really nice people I met there for all their kindness. Really, so very much appreciated. 🙂

Most by now know the story of the pink boat and electric picnic…. click here and have a good read if you don’t.

Anyhow, Sarah took this picture 😉 The boat has changed, a bit. But, like the EP boys promised it still has a good home 🙂

introducing urban strawberry lunch….?

have you ever met a band whos instruments are all ‘recycled’….?

more one might say – found in a skip….?

I was at the smithfield festival where I suppose you could say, apart from the plants – we both collected our ‘bits & pieces’ from similar suppliers.

possibly the most interesting story I have ever heard….

how green is….. john bishop

Courtesy of the carlsberg comedy festival & the culch.ie team I had the absolute honour to see the performance of and after meet with legendary comedian & gentleman John Bishop.

I always usually have to edit interviews – a heck of a lot – But in John’s case….. I simply couldn’t.

The reason I went to meet John of course was to find out just how green he really is….

not long to go now. This pic courtesy of ‘C’. Appreciated. See you at the picnic folks! Of course it all started on the rick show… As long as I’m not confused with the lead singer of Franz Ferdinand [great band by the way]… Darren [the legend.. with odd music tastes!] thinks I look like him… ?!
