Age Action Ireland, Bank of Ireland, Back Yard Blitz 2017

This summer 2017, the Age Action Ireland and Bank of Ireland Back Yard Blitz took place.

According to Age Action:

The gardening bonanza matches up bank employees with local older people who need a bit of help keeping their gardens maintained.

And over 2 days note BITC

Over 300 Bank of Ireland colleagues, Age Action teams and gardening experts mobilised in Dublin, Cork and Galway to mow the lawns, trim the hedges and generally brighten up the gardens, and the lives, of hundreds of older people.

2016: Temple Street Childrens Hospital, You, Me, Inis Mor and A Half Marathon

This coming April 8 – 10th, 2016 I am again heading for another Temple Street Half Marathon on the fantabulous island of Inis Mór – it’s just off the edge off Galway – there are some more images below.

The reasons why Temple Street is so close to my heart slightly to one side, this year hopefully will be my 6th to run, sprint, crawl somehow complete the half marathon on Inis Mór for Temple Street Childrens University Hospital.

As noted the last year and two:

Chatting this morning, the suggestion was that I could have opted out, that I’m busy with work and that haven’t I done it for the last 3 [now 4] years. But there’s also the argument for my being lucky [is that even the right word to use ?], that a bit perspective in a world gone mad isn’t such a bad thing and a very strong case for doing something to give a little back.

Happy Christmas and Happy, New Year 2016

I’ve always done one of these videos. I’m not too sure why but, maybe a little like sprouts, mince pies and aftershave adverts, the metaphors of which I will never fully understand; it simply has to be.

In the meantime, thank you for being part of my 2015. The coffee pot is always on.

Chat soon,
Peter

Temple Street Childrens Hospital, Half Marathon, Inis Mor 2015

peter donegan, kevin rowe, inis mor, temple street

We all have our reasons in life for doing things. The reasons why Temple Street is so close to my heart aside for now [my number is below if you wish to chat/ coffee], this year hopefully will be my 5th year to run, sprint, crawl complete the half marathon on Inis Mór for Temple Street Childrens University Hospital.

As noted last year:

Chatting this morning, the suggestion was that I could have opted out, that I’m busy with work and that haven’t I done it for the last 3 [now 4] years. But there’s also the argument for my being lucky [is that even the right word to use ?], that a bit perspective in a world gone mad isn’t such a bad thing and a very strong case for doing something to give a little back.

I know as a business you may like a little return for your dollars and should that be the case; there does exist this garden blog and my dashing good looks and there’s also a garden radio show and podcast (also award winning) that has covered the journey [horticulturally] every single year. And I’m open to suggestions.
