Trevor Cochrane, host of Garden Gurus TV and Australia‘s longest running television show interviews Garden Designer Peter Donegan about his upcoming Main Avenue show garden for Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2023.

Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, the largest and most prestigious flower horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere located in the World Heritage Site of Carlton Gardens and The Royal Exhibition Building returns 29th March to 2nd April 2023.
Rated among the top five flower and garden shows in the world, it showcases only the finest calibre of garden design and landscape architecture talent selected from Australia and globally.
This year Dublin based award winning landscape architect Peter Donegan has designed The Bamstone Garden to be realised by Victoria based Martin Semken and Semken Landscaping, the most medalled contractor in the shows history.
The main avenue 200 square metre show garden is a contemporary vision of a love story, and hearts separated via a small island off the coast of Galway to the mainland and features a series of natural blue stone steps that symmetrically weave their way through a rocky, maritime landscape, recognisant of the journey made across the Atlantic from the Connemara coast. The destination a moleanus limestone island featuring planting, shelter, and a single 8 metre Liriodendron tulipifera reflecting across the black water to those who wish to return.
