KRCL 90.9 FM‘s Lara Jones and Aldine Strichnine hosts of America’s most high profile radio station interview landscape architect Peter Donegan from Australia’s Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens as he begins his show garden at Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2023.

Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, the largest and most prestigious flower horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere located in the World Heritage Site of Carlton Gardens and The Royal Exhibition Building returns 29th March to 2nd April 2023.
Rated among the top five flower and garden shows in the world, it showcases only the finest calibre of garden design and landscape architecture talent selected from Australia and globally. This year Peter Donegan becomes the first Irish garden designer in the shows history invited and accepted to design a show garden at the prestigious show.
The Bamstone Garden will be realised by Victoria based Martin Semken and Semken Landscaping, the most medalled contractor in the shows history and the finest builders of gardens since 1987.
The main avenue 200 square metre show garden is a contemporary vision of a love story, and hearts separated via a small island off the coast of Galway to the mainland and features a series of natural blue stone steps that symmetrically weave their way through a rocky, maritime landscape, recognisant of the journey made across the Atlantic from the Connemara coast. The destination a moleanus limestone island featuring planting, shelter, and a single 8 metre Liriodendron tulipifera reflecting across the black water to those who wish to return.
