Guest Speaker: Peter Donegan Louth In Bloom Awards 2022

Hosted by Louth County Council the third year of the county-wide environmental competition “Louth in Bloom“ competition opened for entries/ nominations May 2022.

The evening’s celebrations 24 October 2022 at the prestigious Bellingham Castle venue will also host Garden Designer and Landscape Architect Peter Donegan as guest speaker and awards presenting.

The aim of the competition is to acknowledge, recognise and reward the work being carried out by the community/ business sectors and volunteers. The categories in this competition include: Best Gardens, Best Housing Estates, Best Biodiversity Project and Best Hospitality and Business Premises with prizes awarded for each of the three District areas of Ardee, Drogheda & Dundalk, with overall County winners and a “Special Lifetime Contribution Award”.

Peter Donegan Garden Design is an international and local garden design, landscape architecture and project management practice based in Dublin, Ireland. 

In 2001 aged 24, Peter Donegan Garden Design was borne and swiftly won a host of awards for 17th & 18th century gardens designed & show gardens at national competition. From 2019 – 2022 The RHS silver medalist became the series garden designer for the country’s most watched tv show and RTE television’s DIY SOS The Big Build Ireland. Selected to represent Ireland to design & realise the Irish WW1 Centenary Peace Garden at Chateau de Peronne in 2018, he returned and designed a second inaugurated garden there in 2022 to commemorate the anniversary of Europes largest war museum housed within the castle. 2023 will see Peter Donegan become the first Irish Landscape Architect invited and accepted to design at Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show March 2023 – the largest flower show in Southern Hemisphere.
