Thanks! Moving them from out of my garden into pots and hopefully into my new garden next year.

I heard don’t do it……I love my ferns and want to bring them with. I also heard use big pots and don’t disturb the roots too much. Then give them some sugar to keep em going.

Should I leave them in pots or put them in someone elses garden til I move them again next year?

    A Chara Clarabel,

aaaaah now I know they are ferns!! with the plants best interest at heart 😀 don’t do it is always the best option…. [on a serious note] especially when the plant is growing and temperatures are high. but if at a must they have to be then dig as much around the plant as possible and disturb as little as possible the rootball. In your case, re pot into very large pots and some brand spanking new soil.

In terms of a spoon of sugar… what I really mean is a little spoon of slow release fertiliser.
best with it and happy gardening
    peter
