Social Media Means Business 2011

On Wednesday 8th June the Social Media Means Business conference will take place in Tallaght Stadium. Hosted by South Dublin County Council in partnership with South Dublin Chamber of Commerce, it will be chaired by Ms. Krishna De and runs from 8am until 1pm

I’ll be talking at it about promoting your business using Podcasts. More details and information on the event and the speakers list can be found over on the website: smmb.ie

Here’s what I’ll be talking about and what they say about me:

Peter Donegan will be speaking at the Social Media Means Business event on June 8th, 2011 in Tallaght Stadium. There he will be presenting a case study on “Promoting your business using Podcasts”

Peter is a landscape gardener – a business man who is constantly in touch with and using social media.  By all accounts he likes to chat and you will find Peter tweeting and creating audio-boos of anything and everything throughout his normal working day (and often later into the evening).  When following Peter, you will realise that he is honest, straight talking, passionate about gardening, and genuine in all that he does. Through the online medium, Peter has built a sizable following. He is a landscape gardener who tweets, blogs, boos, podcasts (appropriately named the sodshow), and otherwise interacts across diverse social medium.

Incidentally the ‘sodshow’ mixes traditional broadcast media with social media.  It airs on 103.2 Dublin City FM – every Friday @ 3pm and is also available in iTunes.

His gardening background began spending four years studying horticulture, before moving on to brighter pastures: teaching horticulture in South Dublin, landscaping in London and becoming head of grounds for Dublin City University. After leaving his post as Contracts Manager in Dublin, Peter moved to Scotland to work on garden design and consultancy, before returning home in 2001 to set up Donegan Landscaping. In 2001, Peter decided to start his own company, Peter Donegan Landscaping Ltd and has been at the forefront of Irish landscaping ever since. With nine awards already under his belt, including the Overall Winner’s prize for Design at the 2007 ALCI Landscape Awards, the future looks bright for Peter and Irish gardening.
