the past comes back…

a blast from the past

nothing wrong with the past

We were doing the office spring style clear out [in autumn?] recently and I found this poem I wrote from when I first set up. It was an A4 poster-card I had put up in the local shops to let the good people know there was a new face in town…?!

Sometimes one looks back on these things and smiles fondly; then discards like the memory of an old flame…

Sometimes one looks back and thinks that it is part of what has made you what you are today and that not forgetting what you once where *and* where you came from is so important.

Of course I never gave it a title…. ?

Has your garden gone wild?
Has it become somewhat a bore?
Has it turned into a jungle?
Is it your biggest eyesore?

Have you only moved in?
Have you just got some building work done?
Have the kids gone and wrecked it?
Does it block out the sun?

Want to watch me transform it?
Want a professional to do the chores?
Want the neighbours to envy this dreamland in amazement?
Want to create a palace outdoors?

which way to he future?

which way to the future?

I *LOVE* the poem! I have to admit, that when I’m looking for help, I look for personality and someone who’s fun to work with, every bit as much as competence and talent.

Maybe that sounds silly, but really it’s like bedside manner on a doctor: when I go out into my garden later to enjoy it, I’d want to remember *enjoying* putting it together or watching it take shape; I don’t want it to remind me of power struggles with a single-minded designer or long silences over cups of tea when we took a break.

When our lives settle down a bit the garden will be a priority to sort out: just wilderness now. I’m enjoying your blog!

big mug of coffee and head on my desk wondering how to figure a certain part of a garden out… rarely happens, [a writers block of sorts…] when I saw your comment….
